Meet your Teacher night letter of introduction.doc
August 14, 2008
Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s),
My name is Amber Fetters and this is my fifth year at Andover Middle School. I am anxious to begin another year with your student, as my previous years of teaching have been especially enjoyable and successful. I am very proud to tell others where I am from and the school district I represent.
Here at Andover Middle School, I will be teaching 7th grade courses in Language Arts. In the past, I have also started off the year as an assistant volleyball coach. However, due to little ones at home, I will be taking a break from coaching obligations this year.
I graduated from Circle High School and then continued on to graduate from Kansas State University. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Middle-Level Endorsement in English. Ever since I could walk, I have been in the school environment. My father has been a teacher in the Circle Unified School District for 30 years.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, also a former United States Marine. My husband, Leighton, graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Exercise Science. He is working for Wellness Coaches USA and spends his days consulting City of Wichita Firefighters and Police Officers on health and wellness. Over the summer, we also became the new owners of the Anytime Fitness Club in Augusta, which keeps him quite busy as well.
My daughter, Averie, will be turning three in October and her little sister, Meredith, will be celebrating her first birthday on September 1st. Like most of your children, my two daughters are the best thing to have ever happened to me and no one could have prepared me for the love and joy that they bring into my life. Being a mother has truly made me a better teacher as well.
Once again, I am looking forward to another wonderful year ahead and clearly see that I could not have found a better administration, staff, community, and group of students to work with. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with concerns, questions, or comments that you may have throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Amber Fetters
